Job summary

Bunge in Gdańsk is seeking a Senior Financial Controller to lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with US GAAP reporting and statutory compliance. You will help maintain strong internal controls, oversee consolidation, and partner with cross-functional teams to drive accurate financial results.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Accounting/Finance, with multinational experience and fluency in English. SAP and OneStream/Hyperion knowledge are a plus in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; ACCA or CIMA is a plus.
• Strong experience in controlling and leadership roles.
• Strong expertise in Accounting Standards (US GAAP/IFRS/Polish GAAP); SOX controls experience a plus.
• Multinational experience preferred.
• Fluent English is essential.
• ERP systems proficiency e.g., SAP; OneStream/Hyperion knowledge a plus.
• Analytical mindset with ability to prioritize under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes with US GAAP reporting.
• Ensure local GAAP reporting and statutory compliance; manage local adjustments and authority liaison.
• Oversee internal controls over financial reporting (SOX) and support audits.
• Manage inventory valuation, fixed assets, and related KPIs.
• Assume leadership of the finance team and mentor staff.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accurate US GAAP reporting, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and SEC/SFAS schedules.
• Ensure timely and accurate Local GAAP reporting and statutory compliance, including managing local GAAP adjustments and liaising with external authorities.
• Oversee and maintain robust internal controls over financial reporting (SOX), including annual audit cycle support and remediation efforts.
• Manage industrial control aspects, such as inventory valuation, fixed asset accounting, and monitoring related KPIs.
• Assuming a leadership role for the team.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. ACCA or CIMA is a plus.
• Strong experience in controlling and leadership roles.
• Strong expertise in Accounting Standards. US GAAP or IFRS, Polish GAAP. Internal Controls experience in SOX is a plus.
• Multinational experience preferred.
• Fluent in English is essential.
• Proficiency in ERP systems. SAP (or similar advanced ERP/consolidation systems). Onestream/Hyperion consolidation systems knowledge is a plus.
• Analytical skills, and ability to prioritize in high-pressure environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization.
