Job summary

LSL CPAs is seeking a Commercial Assurance Experienced Associate to join our remote team. You will work with clients across various industries, performing audit, review, and compilation procedures, while developing technical skills and a strong professional foundation.

You will collaborate with an audit team and management, analyze financial statements, evaluate controls, and prepare work papers. The role emphasizes learning across all engagement phases and potential involvement in business

Qualifications

• Must be a team player and enjoy engaging with clients.
• 1+ years’ professional services firm experience, required.
• Experience in a CPA firm, preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams) required.
• Valid CPA license or actively working toward obtaining the license.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects.
• Knowledge of current audit and accounting concepts.
• Client Focused
• Be willing and available to travel to serve clients.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and review client accounting records and financial statements
• Evaluate internal accounting control systems, audit risk, materiality, and compliance with GAAS
• Prepare audit and review work papers to support the work completed
• Assist on portions of larger audit engagements
• Perform year-end and interim auditing procedures, including inventory observations
• Prepare concise and accurate work papers communicating issues
• Communicate project status and identify efficiencies using technology tools
• Learn to perform all phases of an engagement including financial statement preparation
• Develop skills related to business development and referrals
• Apply audit and accounting principles including FASB and SSARSs/GAAS
• Understand industry-specific audit issues such as financial statement audits and regulatory compliance

Experienced Audit Associate

What you will be doing:

• Along with an Audit team, you will be coached by our experienced staff and management team. You will work with clients from a variety of industries, performing audit, review, and compilation procedures, honing your technical skills and building a strong professional foundation. You will:
• Analyze and review client accounting records and financial statements
• Evaluate internal accounting control systems, audit risk, materiality, and compliance with generally accepted auditing standards via inquiry, observation, and review
• Prepare audit and review work papers to support the work completed
• Assist on portions of larger audit engagements
• Perform year-end and interim auditing procedures, including inventory observations
• In conjunction with the in-charge, prepare concise and accurate work papers, which properly communicate the unique issues of the area being tested
• Communicate the status of projects regularly and identify areas for efficiencies, utilizing available technology tools or new testing methods
• Learning to perform all phases of an engagement including financial statement preparation
• Develop skills related to business development - begins to develop referral sources, which may include involvement in community, business and professional organizations
• Apply audit and accounting principles and techniques on the engagements to include: FASB's and SSARSs/GAAS
• Basic understanding of industry specific audit issues which may include any of the following areas: financial statement audits, regulatory compliance, due diligence, process and controls, or assertions and agreements

Salary Range: ($32.00 - $40.00) Non-Exempt Status

Please note that quoted salary ranges are not guarantees of what final salary offers may be. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that LSL, LLP provides to compensate and recognize our professionals for their work. All exempt positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and all employees who are regularly scheduled to work 30 hours or more per week are offered a comprehensive benefits package.
