Job Description

As we work to transform and optimise Mars, a new program has been mobilised by the Mars leadership team. The program is focused on the design and implementation of SAP S/4HANA in Mars across Segments (Petcare, Corporate, Snacking & Food) with an initial focus on our Royal Canin Division. Much more than a simple “Lift and Shift,” this program will undertake a major process simplification and harmonisation scope as we digitally transform our business.

The program focuses on several key process areas including Finance, Source to Pay (procurement and vendor mgmt.), Plan to Fulfil (manufacturing and distribution), Lead to Cash (sales order processing and payment) as well as Quality & Food Safety. This transformation requires thought leadership, quality decision making, deep technical know-how, and an ability to navigate complex business challenges.

The CoE SAP QM Template Analyst will report to the CoE Q&FS Director. This may change to CoE Q&FS Testing & Conformance Senior Lead as the role is filled.

This role is responsible for supporting the design and build of new capabilities based on SAP S/4 HANA and the SAP Business Technology Platform to enable Royal Canin's and Mars' future processes for material testing and ensuring conformance to specification of our raw materials, packaging, semi-finished and finished goods. Once the template is built, this role will provide support to regional deployment teams acting as the link between the CoE team and deployment teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Corporate and Royal Canin Process Owners and regional teams to define requirements for Quality Management (QM) solutions ensuring alignment with business and regulatory standards.
  • Analyze opportunities for harmonization by identifying where factories, divisions and segments can adopt common SAP QM solutions, and where unique requirements necessitate tailored approaches.
  • Partner with the System Integrator to ensure business requirements are effectively translated Into technical specifications for capabilities defined with the Q&FS Testing & Conformance workstream.
  • Ensure SAP QM solution designs uphold compliance by implementing appropriate separation of duties, robust security roles, and restricted access to sensitive quality and testing data.
  • Champion high standards of knowledge management to secure the long-term value of SAP QM solutions, including documentation, training, and best practice sharing.
  • Support robust testing and validation plans for SAP QM solutions, ensuring all business, regulatory, and technical requirements are met prior to deployment, including oversight of test script development and execution.
  • Work closely with other Centers of Excellence (CoE), such as those responsible for Logistics and Product Manufacture, to ensure seamless handover of quality data.
  • Represent the CoE Q&FS template during deployments, including pilot deployments which will need more template team involvement
  • Partner with deployment teams and division BPOs to execute Fit to template reviews and UAT.
  • Provide S/4 template guidance to deployment analysts with the aim of maximum standardization
  • Provide guidance on integration of edge solutions using the template interface portfolio.
  • When potential template gaps are identified, conduct detailed analysis together with the deployment team and BPOs. Recommend options from within the standard template, where possible influence to change local processes instead of changing the template.
  • Validate any gaps with the relevant BPO & GPO, then escalation back to the template team for solution design. May propose solutions, but priority is to clearly define the business gap.
Knowledge / Experience
  • 2+ years experience with design and implementation of the SAP QM module.
  • Ideally SAP PP / MM experience
  • Experience with SAP global template design / development
  • Strong knowledge of Quality & Food Safety practices.
  • Good communications, especially in English
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to adapt style to work with non-native English speakers
  • Experience working in ambiguous and changing contexts.
  • Experience investigating business requirements
  • Manages multiple activities and priorities under pressure
