The VELUX Group is seeking an Engineer, Cloud Platform Lead to shape the next generation of our infrastructure services. You will drive Azure platform evolution, automation, and governance, while exploring AI applications to enhance engineering and operations.

Based in a collaborative, global IT environment, you will partner with security, application teams and our strategic partner to deliver scalable, reliable cloud solutions and standardized patterns across the organisation.

• Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Strong automation and IaC capabilities using Terraform or similar tools.
• Ability to translate architectural ideas into scalable, reliable solutions.

Meet your future team

You will join our Infrastructure & Cloud team and become part of a transformation that is shaping the future of IT at VELUX. Our mission is to modernise and simplify how infrastructure services are delivered across the organisation, moving towards a platform-driven approach built on automation, Infrastructure as Code, cloud technologies and AI.

Working closely with Infrastructure specialists, Security teams, application teams and strategic partners, you will help establish the foundations that enable innovation across VELUX. While parts of our operational delivery are provided together with our strategic partner HCL, the focus of this role is on designing what comes next. You will help define new ways of working, strengthen our platform capabilities, increase automation and drive the transformation of infrastructure services across VELUX.

Based in either Kolding or Hørsholm, you will join a collaborative environment where knowledge sharing, experimentation and continuous improvement are encouraged. Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to influence how technology is delivered across VELUX for years to come.

Microsoft Azure, Azure Arc, Infrastructure as Code and automation are key building blocks in our journey. At the same time, we are actively exploring how AI can support engineering, operations and service delivery, helping teams work smarter and focus on higher-value activities.

More specifically your tasks will be to:

• Evolve our Microsoft Azure platform, architecture and cloud governance
• Drive Infrastructure as Code and automation using tools such as Terraform and CI/CD pipelines
• Build reusable patterns, self-service capabilities and standardised solutions that simplify infrastructure delivery across teams
• Explore and implement opportunities where AI can support engineering, troubleshooting, documentation and operations
• Support FinOps initiatives and improve cloud cost transparency and optimisation
• Expand and mature Azure Arc across our hybrid infrastructure environment
• Collaborate closely with Infrastructure specialists, Security teams, application teams and external service providers
• Provide technical leadership and help translate architectural ideas into scalable, reliable solutions
• Help shape the future infrastructure operating model at VELUX, driving standardisation, simplification and automation across the organisation
• Partner with our strategic operations provider, HCL, to continuously improve service delivery while strengthening internal platform and engineering capabilities

What you will bring

You are passionate about cloud technologies and enjoy turning complex challenges into practical, scalable solutions. You combine technical depth with a collaborative mindset and thrive in environments where technology and ways of working are continuously evolving.

Moreover, we expect that you:

• Have strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
• Bring experience with cloud architecture, governance, networking, security and monitoring
• Have worked with Infrastructure as Code and Git-based delivery workflows, preferably using Terraform
• Have experience with Azure Arc or a strong interest in hybrid cloud management
• Possess a strong automation mindset and a desire to reduce manual effort through modern engineering practices
• Are curious about AI and how it can be applied to cloud engineering and IT operations
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Have experience working with suppliers, managed service providers or outsourced operations

It will be an advantage if you also have experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Kubernetes, Windows Server or other hybrid infrastructure technologies.
