HedgeServ is seeking a Fund Accounting Transitions professional in Kraków to onboard new clients onto the HedgeServ platform from a Fund Accounting perspective. Reporting to the Director, with support from the Managing Director, you will reconcile NAVs to prior administrators and hand over to the NAV team for daily and monthly processes.

You will lead a team, review work, and develop junior staff, with induction and AML/KYC training provided.

Qualifications

• Accounting, Finance or Business Degree. Min. 2.2 honors degree.
• Strong reconciliation skills with ability to problem solve and to resolve breaks.
• Strong financial product knowledge.
• Ability to be flexible and work effectively both within a team structure or independently.
• Strong inter-personal skills required to deal with many different departments both within and outside of HedgeServ.
• Good initiative required but also ability to recognize when escalation of issues needs to be taken.
• Strong Microsoft Office, product and process knowledge.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a Fund Administration or Investment Firm with at least 3 of those at supervisor level.

Responsibilities

• Onboard new clients from a Fund Accounting perspective onto the HedgeServ platform.
• Liaise with Middle Office to ensure Open Positions and daily trades are loaded.
• Reconcile back to prior administrator books and explain any differences at take-on date.
• Coordinate with NAV team during parallel NAV production.
• Ensure month-end reconciliations during parallel period and account for breaks.
• Review work prepared by Supervisors and Analysts.
• Manage the team and develop junior staff with a clear progression plan.

The successful candidate will join the team responsible for onboarding of new clients from a Fund Accounting perspective onto the HedgeServ platform, reporting directly to the Director in this department but also with the support of the Managing Director. The Fund Accounting Transitions team will, by the end of each new client transition, have reconciled back all aspects of the NAV to the prior administrator and handed the client over to the NAV team who will then move on with Hedgeserv’s daily and monthly processes. The requisite Induction Training will be provided in addition to both compulsory training (AML/KYC) and optional training. Additional role-specific training shall be provided by the Director.

Key Accountabilities Of The Role

• Working with the new client to ensure all the requisite Fund Accounting information necessary is received in order to begin the initial take on in a timely manner
• Liaising with our Middle Office Department to ensure that the Open Positions are loaded onto our system along with the daily trades that will be loaded once the initial positions are reconciled
• Reconciling back to the prior administrator books and records and accounting for any differences that may occur between the prior administrator’s system and the HedgeServ in-house NAV systems at take on date
• Liaising with the HedgeServ NAV team during the parallel period where both the previous administrator and HedgeServ are both producing a NAV
• Ensuring that at each month end during the parallel period that a full reconciliation is completed between the prior administrator and the HedgeServ records and that any breaks are accounted for
• Reviewing work prepared by Supervisors and Analysts
• Managing the team members and preparing a path for the more junior team members to be able to progress
