EY GDS Poland is looking for an experienced Architect to join the Architecture team within the EY Client Technology’s Technology Strategy and Architecture (TS&A) function. The role focuses on defining and delivering architectures and designs for business‑critical global products and platforms, hosted across diverse infrastructure and environments, with an emphasis on reusability, scalability and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Build relationships across the business to understand requirements, strategy and help build product/platform roadmaps.
- Translate business requirements into architecture blueprints, providing innovative and practical design at both high and low levels.
- Own the overall technology, architecture and design landscape of the product/platform from solutioning to delivery and adoption.
- Lead a portfolio or large product team of architects, setting the technology direction and ensuring end‑to‑end delivery in a lead architect’s capacity.
- Solve complex problems, ideate and incubate new solutions, evaluate technical feasibility, build proof of concepts and present options to the business with recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams (engineering, platform, infosec) to deliver architectures and designs in compliance with enterprise standards.
- Provide leadership in product delivery, building and reusing functional and technical assets, defining and implementing reusable standards.
- Support product and project managers with planning, forecasting, estimation and cost assessment to balance cost, risk and quality.
- Coach, mentor and support development teams during the delivery phase, ensuring compliance with architectural artifacts and quality standards through code reviews and architecture reviews.
- Contribute to architecture and development standards to promote optimization and consistency.
- Manage multiple projects with varied stakeholders, building consensus, mediating conflicts and providing technical leadership and advisory services.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills to operate effectively in global, distributed teams.
- Cultivate lasting relationships across business, IT and vendors/industry analysts, staying aware of enterprise and industry trends, and fostering technical quality, emerging technologies and experimentation through mentoring, hackathons and communities.
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Led and governed a global team of solution and technical architects, driving the technology and architecture landscape of large and complex portfolios and achieving successful implementation and adoption.
- Advanced architecture leadership with proven track record in complex, large‑scale global product/platform ecosystems across the entire lifecycle.
- Hands‑on deep experience in at least one specialization of solution or technical architecture (application, infrastructure/cloud, integration, data, security).
- Expert‑level skills in defining, designing and developing distributed and scalable products using reusable domain‑specific composable services on containers and multi‑platform/hybrid clouds (Microsoft Azure preferred).
- Expert‑level skills in multiple application programming and scripting languages, SQL and NoSQL databases, big data, data analytics, machine learning, and identity technologies.
- Ability to adopt new technologies while adhering to security and EY standards.
- Understanding of business and organizational strategy and ability to communicate solutions effectively.
- In‑depth knowledge of design patterns and architectural styles (traditional, microservices, event‑driven, data streaming).
- Strong collaboration, analytical, interpersonal and communication abilities.
Ideal Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Mathematics, or Economics.
- 15+ years overall IT industry experience, with 5+ years in a solution or technical architect role using private/public cloud IaaS, PaaS and SaaS platforms.
- Relevant architecture certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure, TOGAF, AWS, Pivotal, CISSIP, CEH, SAFe, PMI, SAP).
- Thought leadership experience presenting ideas, concept papers and points of view in industry forums or events.
- Experience designing business use‑cases using low‑code/no‑code, generative AI, data reporting, governance technologies, mobile applications and advanced cloud security.
