Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to take full ownership of the company’s accounting and financial operations in Poland. This role involves leading the transition from outsourced to in-house accounting, optimizing financial processes, and ensuring full compliance with Polish accounting and tax regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Organization and supervision of full accounting and tax settlements in accordance with Polish law
  • Preparation and submission of tax returns and financial statements
  • Transferring accounting from outsourcing to in-house management
  • Reconstruction of accounting records (inventories, adjustments, cooperation with contractors and banks)
  • Optimization of financial processes
  • Preparing the company for external audits, cooperation with auditors
  • Preparation and submission of statistical reports to the Central Statistical Office (GUS) (including SP, BS)
  • Management of PPK reporting
  • Management of withholding tax (WHT) settlements: classification of receivables, document verification, application of exemptions and reduced rates
  • Cooperation with tax authorities and state institutions
  • Control of banking operations and payments
Qualifications
  • Higher education in a relevant field (accounting, finance)
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including managerial experience
  • Very good knowledge of Polish accounting standards and tax regulations
  • Experience in external audits and cooperation with audit firms
  • Experience in cooperation with regulatory bodies
  • Experience in managing HR and payroll matters
  • Very good knowledge of Polish, English and Russian
  • Knowledge of international accounting standards will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of the Medicover system will be an advantage
