Job summary

This hybrid role in Kraków requires strong C development under Linux, knowledge of multi-threaded programming, IP networking, and a passion for solving complex real-time data problems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in an engineering field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in finance/tech is a plus and desirable.
• Office-based with hybrid home/office flexibility.

The Role

This is an opportunity to join a world-leading engineering team working on the design and development of new features across Pico’s entire product range. Our Redline Trading Solutions provides ultra-low latency market data and order execution solutions that solve the toughest latency and throughput challenges in today’s equities, options, futures and foreign exchange markets.

We need brilliant engineers to help bring this technology into new markets and new deployment models. Requirements

• BSc/MSc in a relevant Engineering disciple (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc)
• Proficiency in C development under Linux
• Knowledge of multi-threaded application development
• Knowledge of IP networking
• Insatiable appetite for problem-solving and learning about technology
• Team player - excels in a collaborative environment while using initiative to the team’s benefit
• Focus on writing maintainable and scalable code
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Ability to ask for help, take advice, and incorporate constructive feedback
• This role is office-based, minimum expectation is hybrid office/remote work.
• 3+ years of experience working in a Tech firm, preferably in the financial space.

Experience/Knowledge of the following is desirable

• Automated testing (unit testing, integration testing)
• Python programming
• Knowledge of Financial trading concepts (orders, trades, quotes, etc) and protocols, including FIX.

Working Arrangements

This is a Hybrid position with weekly time in the office with the flexibility of working from home . Though travel may be required from time to time, it is not expected to be regular or frequent. The role holder will be expected to work whatever hours are necessary for the performance of this role (recognizing that it involves multiple jurisdictions/geographies including but not limited to EMEA, USA and APAC).
