Job description

The Business Reporting, Analyst will be responsible for reporting activities addressed to PPG’s Executive Leadership team, Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Leadership team that includes external stakeholders to the function such as SBU GMs, Technical and Finance Leaders. S/he will work with Operations managers, the finance leaders, the Operations leadership team, cross-functional finance analysts, and executive management to understand and execute various reporting deliverables.

The Business Reporting, Analyst will be responsible for driving the automation processes based on current reporting needs, in cooperation with key stakeholders.

The principal accountabilities of this role include but are not limited to:

Operations Reporting and Analyses
  • Maintain data models, and perform analysis,
  • Conversant in communicating with business finance leaders, relationship-building,
  • Enable commercial communication through effective inputs,
  • Develop reporting in collaboration with stakeholders and other key contributors to identify opportunities and drive future decisions,
  • Determine the best graphical display for critical measures, creating graphics and dashboard formats to accurately convey process performance,
  • Operate with knowledge of policies, processes, and guidelines,
  • Develop PBI/Python/SQL solutions to complex and time-sensitive requests,
  • Communicate clearly and effectively to others,
  • Identify and prioritize multiple projects to meet or exceed required deadlines.
Minimum Required Education and Experience
  • A minimum of a Master’s degree in Business, Economics, or Finance related field of study,
  • A minimum of 2+ years of previous analytics, business, finance, and/or operations experience is required,
  • Comfortable with coordination of global initiatives and navigating in a matrix organization across time zones and diverse cultures and working styles,
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel such as building/maintaining data models and automating reports and other advanced computer and analytical skills are required,
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including data modeling, report development, and data visualization best practices,
  • Proficient in English, high presentational skills,
  • Must have a working knowledge of Python,
  • SQL experience will be a plus.
