Job summary

R.Power Renewables is seeking an engineer to take technical ownership of our BESS projects during the operational phase, from asset takeover through the full lifecycle. The role focuses on LTSA supplier management, performance monitoring, operating profile optimization and enforcement of contractual guarantees.

You'll supervise batteries, PCS, EMS/SCADA, manage LTSA/OEM providers, analyze KPIs, review profiles against warranties, and ensure compliance with grid codes and lender requirements

Qualifications

• University degree in electrical engineering, power engineering, automation or similar.
• Experience in energy or industrial projects, preferably BESS.
• Strong knowledge of BESS components (batteries, PCS, EMS, HVAC, fire protection).
• Experience with LTSA / OEM providers and O&M teams.
• Ability to interpret and enforce technology contracts (LTSA, BSA, warranty, SLA).
• Experience in KPI monitoring and analysis of BESS projects.
• Knowledge of grid codes and standards (NC ER, NC RfG, TSO/DSO requirements).

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day technical supervision of BESS projects in the operational phase (batteries, PCS, EMS/SCADA, auxiliary systems).
• Manage the working relationship with LTSA / OEM providers.
• Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs): availability, RTE, SoH, degradation, capacity retention, response time, contractual guaranteed values.
• Review battery operating profiles against warranty conditions, asset longevity and economic optimization (cycling, DoD, C-rate, temperature).
• Enforce LTSA / BSA contractual conditions – performance guarantees, liquidated damages, SLA compliance, availability, warranty claims.
• Analyze EMS/SCADA events and alarms, perform root cause analysis, drive corrective actions.
• Own the technical interface between BESS projects, TSO/DSO, balancing market aggregator and internal trading / dispatch teams.
• Ensure compliance with grid codes (NC ER), TSO/DSO requirements and lender requirements throughout the operational phase.
• Support reperformance and capacity retests, verify parameters after service works.
• Identify, assess and mitigate technical and contractual risks during operations.
• Report technical asset status to senior management, lenders and other stakeholders.
• Support insurance and claim management processes (damage, downtime, OEM warranties).

• Ability to interpret and enforce technology contracts (LTSA, BSA, warranty, SLA)
• Experience in KPI monitoring and analysis of BESS projects (SoH, RTE, availability, degradation)
• Knowledge of grid codes and standards (NC ER, NC RfG, TSO/DSO requirements)
• Experience in utility‑scale BESS – nice to have
