Job summary

Ox Security in Warsaw, Poland, is seeking a Backend Team Lead to guide engineering execution, shape architecture, and deliver scalable, high‑quality software.

This hands‑on leadership role partners with Engineering, Product, Customer Success and customers, owning execution across multiple workstreams and steering technical decisions.

You’ll drive AI‑first initiatives, mentor teammates, and contribute to AWS/MongoDB cloud development while maintaining quality.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on development experience with leadership exposure.
• Node.js is a must-have; React is preferred; AWS experience is must-have.
• Python is a plus and AI-first mindset is valued.
• Proven track record delivering end-to-end features in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication to lead a global team and convey technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Ownership: Lead the team’s execution across several workstreams, ensuring high-quality delivery within every sprint.
• Strategic Planning: Own the Sprint Planning process
• Coordination: Act as the primary bridge between your team and other departments to remove blockers and support cross-team dependencies.
• Growth & Velocity: Continuously improve team velocity and individual capabilities through coaching, mentoring, and identifying skill gaps.
• Robust Architecture: Own the technical design of team features, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and 'clean.'
• Hands-on Contribution: Lead by example in high-scale, cloud-based development (AWS, MongoDB) and conduct rigorous code reviews.
• Product Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers to shape features from initial concept through to production.
• AI-First & Performance Mentality: Integrate AI tools and workflows into daily development and drive a Get Things Done culture.

We’re growing fast and looking for a Backend Team Lead to join our Engineering team and play a key role in leading technical execution, driving engineering excellence, and helping our team deliver scalable, high-quality products.

This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role where you’ll work closely with Engineering, Product, Customer Success, and customers, owning execution across multiple workstreams while helping shape technical decisions from initial design through production.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leadership & Sprint Execution

• Ownership: Lead the team’s execution across several workstreams, ensuring high-quality delivery within every sprint.

• Product Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers to shape features from initial concept through to production.

Customers Facing

• Own Customers Facing Activities: Participate in technical sessions with customers.
• Lead Domain: Be a focal point for your domain related discussions, own the communication with OX internal Customer Success teammates.
• Product Focus: Lead discussions and technical decisions related to the enhancements and new features planning.

AI-First & Performance Mentality

• AI-First Mentality: Integrate AI tools and workflows into the daily development lifecycle (e.g., AI-assisted coding, automated testing, and prompt-driven prototyping) to act as a force multiplier for the team.
• Efficiency & Quality: Drive a "Get Things Done" culture where speed does not sacrifice stability. You are responsible for ensuring the team uses the best modern tools to work smarter, not harder.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 6+ years of hands-on development experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
• Technical Stack: Deep expertise in Node.js (must-have) and React (preferred). Familiarity with AWS (must-have). Python experience is a plus.
• The "AI-First" Spark: You are an early adopter of AI technologies and are passionate about finding ways to use AI to improve developer experience and system performance.
• Outcome-Driven: A proven track record of managing project execution and delivering end-to-end features in a fast-paced environment.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a global team and communicate complex technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
