Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking an Azure Systems Architect to lead design, governance, and implementation of scalable, secure, AI-ready cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure. You will define enterprise-grade architectures, covering infrastructure, networking, security, container platforms, DevOps practices and AI integration.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise Azure architectures.
• Expertise in Azure networking, identity, security and landing zones.
• Hands-on with AKS, container orchestration and microservices.
• Experience with IaC using Terraform and CI/CD automation.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and automated pipelines (GitHub/Azure DevOps).
• Experience with observability using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• Understanding of cloud security, RBAC, managed identities and compliance.
• Exposure to AI services on Azure and AI-enabled solutions.
• Nice to have Azure certifications and Kubernetes certifications.
• Experience with FinOps and cost optimisation.

• Define and maintain enterprise Azure platform architecture, including landing zones, subscriptions, networking, identity, governance and workload hosting standards.
• Design reusable cloud patterns for APIs, microservices, containerized workloads and serverless solutions.
• Establish secure, scalable networking architectures, including hub-and-spoke topologies, private connectivity and API gateways.
• Define Infrastructure as Code standards using Terraform and lead environment automation initiatives.
• Drive CI/CD and DevOps standards, including security scanning and automated deployments.
• Ensure observability, compliance and cost optimisation practices using Azure-native tools.
• Advise on integrating AI services such as Azure AI, Azure OpenAI and related components into application architectures.
• Provide architectural reviews, enforce governance controls and guide project delivery toward target-state architecture.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and security teams to deliver solutions aligned with enterprise principles.

We're looking for an Azure Systems Architect to join our team and lead the design, governance and implementation of scalable, secure and AI-ready cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure. In this role, you will define enterprise-grade architectures, covering infrastructure, networking, security, container platforms, DevOps practices and AI integration. You will collaborate with engineering, security and product teams to establish a robust Azure foundation that enables cloud transformation, operational excellence and the adoption of AI-enabled business capabilities.

• Design reusable cloud patterns for APIs, microservices, containerized workloads and serverless solutions

Requirements

• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise Azure architectures
• Strong expertise in Azure networking, identity, security and landing zones
• Hands-on experience with AKS, container orchestration and microservices
• Solid understanding of hybrid infrastructure, connectivity and integration patterns
• Skilled in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) and CI/CD automation
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, GitHub/Azure DevOps and automated pipelines
• Experience implementing observability solutions with Azure Monitor and Application Insights
• Understanding of cloud security, RBAC, managed identities and compliance frameworks
• Exposure to AI/Generative AI services on Azure and ability to design AI-enabled solutions
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional environments
• Nice to have Azure certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Expert)
• Kubernetes certifications or production-level experience
• Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks such as Semantic Kernel or LangChain
• Experience with platform engineering, golden paths and self-service cloud setups
• Knowledge of FinOps practices and cost optimisation strategies
