Job summary

ALTEN Polska is hiring an Automation Test Engineer to build and maintain automated test frameworks in Java, covering UI, API, and integration layers. You will translate functional requirements into robust test cases and help ensure coverage of end-to-end flows.

Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, BAs, and Ops to define acceptance criteria, integrate tests into CI/CD, analyze failures, and contribute to test documentation and dashboards.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience building automation in Java
• Experience with common automation tools/frameworks such as JUnit/TestNG and Cucumber (optional).
• Familiarity with REST APIs and UI automation using Selenium/Playwright.
• Understanding of test automation best practices: maintainability, flakiness reduction, parallel execution, environment resilience.
• Familiarity with observability, logs, tracing, and SQL basics.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated test frameworks and suites using Java and automation tools (UI, API, integration).
• Translate functional payment requirements into automated test cases, ensuring coverage of end-to-end flows.
• Automate testing for payment types and components (credit transfers, direct debits, ISO 20022, gateways).
• Create API and service-level automation with contract/schema validation.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines and enable unattended execution, reporting, and quality gates.
• Analyze failures via logs and traces; raise defects with evidence.
• Collaborate with PO, Developers, BAs, and Ops on acceptance criteria and release readiness.
• Maintain test documentation: coverage, traceability, dashboards.
