About the Position

As a senior-level project management role, the Associate Principal - Project Manager II directs a team that works together to serve and develop long-term relationships with clients, enabling the team to win work, deliver projects, and get paid for the work completed.

This individual will manage resources and workload assignments, mentor and develop team members, review project financial metrics, identify and follow up on leads, ensure business processes are followed, conduct creative and engineering reviews, and help bring work into the team.

Knowledge
  • Knowledge of the AEC industry and the design and construction of technology systems such as telecommunications infrastructure, cabling, audiovisual, security, acoustics, and wired and wireless networks.
  • Delivery of system designs with a well-coordinated set of construction documents within project budgets.
  • Experience with large and complex construction projects ($500,000+ TEECOM fee) across multiple disciplines and industry verticals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Learn the building design process and the pursuit process
  • Lead fee development, PSA and ASA development, and project interview coordination
  • Prepare and attend pursuit interviews
  • Lead fee negotiations with clients
  • Follow up on open pursuits
  • Foster client relationships and document important discussions in TEECOM’s CRM
  • Ask clients about other current or upcoming projects
  • Develop additional business with clients
  • Attend client and industry events
  • Lead projects and manage teams/contractors
  • Translate a client’s IT vision into scope, schedule, and budget
  • Interface between client IT and Facilities staff and integrators/contractors
  • Manage expectations with vendors and engineering staff
  • Oversee IT infrastructure and networks design and implementation
  • Document client-specific processes; track decisions, expenses, and schedule
  • Travel around the U.S. visiting client sites and overseeing implementation
  • Attend or schedule client, construction, or design team meetings to gather or disseminate technology requirements
  • Manage project communications and information related to technology
  • Track and manage design decisions via design decision log
  • Develop and track projects using MS Project, Primavera, and Asana
  • Coordinate all technology implementation dates with clients, vendors, and construction team
  • Coordinate, track, and manage network equipment and ownership responsibilities for technology deployment
  • Track installation of contractor-furnished equipment related to technology
  • Track and manage the technology design to meet project requirements
  • Provide project master site schedule for major milestones
  • Procurement support including RFPs, BOM development, procurement management, quote review, and delivery tracking
  • Develop and manage network patching matrices
  • Coordinate move information between IT, telecom, and Facilities
  • Communicate project status to IT owners from site-ready to go-live
  • Provide project documentation to IT owners upon project completion
  • Coordinate lessons learned after project completion
  • Provide weekly project status reporting to client
  • Complete financial reconciliation (quotes vs. ROM) if requested
  • Assist with recruiting efforts and candidate experience
  • Document and maintain team processes, workflows, and best practices; contribute to discussions on challenges and improvements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Ensure timesheets, expenses, billing, and invoices are accurate
  • Achieve billed revenue target each quarter
  • Identify, prepare, and secure authorization for ASA when scope deviates from PSA
  • Meet project budgets and contribute to profitability
  • Ensure client and design team due dates are met

Experience
  • Education/Degree/Major: Bachelors (business administration or construction management preferred) or equivalent experience

Compensation

$100,000 - $180,000 a year

This compensation will vary depending on your role-related skills, experience, knowledge, and subject matter expertise. TEECOM is committed to making sure that we are the right fit for each applicant and that each applicant is the right fit for our team.
