Job summary

Lodz University of Technology invites applications for a postdoctoral research position in the Institute of Organic Chemistry. The role focuses on expanding organocatalysis via photocatalysis, developing new synthesis methods and documenting results in high-impact publications.

The project aims to advance environmentally friendly methodologies with mild conditions; the postdoc will report results and contribute to grant-funded activities. December 2026 start date is expected.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field.
• Documented research record with publications in journals with global reach.
• Strong knowledge of and research interests in organic chemistry.
• Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of spectroscopic methods and their application to identification of organic compounds.
• Ability to work in a team, motivated, enthusiastic for research and development, creativity, independence in planning experiments.
• Ability to write articles/reports in English.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Ph.D. degree obtained no earlier than 7 years prior to the year of employment; for female applicants, extension by 1.5 years per child.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize synthesis conditions for selected photo-organocatalytic reactions.
• Identify new reaction pathways and optimize conditions.
• Prepare interim reports and scientific publications based on results.
• Be employed under an employment contract for the duration of the project.
