Kozminski University in Warsaw seeks an Assistant Professor (mathematics) for the Institute of Computer Science to contribute to teaching and research activities. The candidate will teach mathematics courses and participate in academic duties on-site and remotely.

Qualifications

• PhD in mathematics or computer and information sciences or ICT.
• At least 2 years of documented experience in IT training or academic classes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mathematics courses in areas such as linear algebra, optimization, analysis, logic, statistics across programs (lectures/tutorials/labs/projects; on-site and remote).
• Assist with developing materials for the e-learning platform.
• Collect students’ evaluations.
• Publish scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals.
• Conduct research activities at the Institute.
• Participate in organizational tasks.

This position includes the following duties:

• conducting mathematics courses in at least two of the following areas: linear algebra and optimization, mathematical analysis, logic and discrete mathematics, probability theory and statistics across various undergraduate programs, (lectures/ tutorials/ laboratories/ projects/ consultations), both on-site and remotely,


• assistance with developing materials for the e-learning platform,


• collecting students’ evaluations,


• publishing scientific articles in peer reviewed journals,


• conducting research activities at the Institute,


• participation in organizational tasks.

Requirements for the candidate:

• PhD (or equivalent) in mathematics or computer and information sciences or information and communication technology,


• at least 2 years of documented experience in conducting training, workshops, or academic classes in IT,


• ability to conduct classes via e-learning (remotely),


• proficiency in English at C1 level (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), allowing the candidate to teach in this language,


• proficiency in English at B2 level (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), allowing the candidate to teach in this language,


• readiness to work on-site,


• readiness to declare Kozminski University as the primary place of employment.
