The L. & A. Birkenmajer Institute for the History of Science PAN in Warsaw invites applications for an Assistant Professor (Adiunkt) in the History of Technology Research Unit.

The successful candidate will study the history of technology and transport in the 19th–20th centuries and engage in academic life, funding applications, and heritage documentation. PhD in humanities/social sciences/technical sciences is required with a focus on transport history; knowledge of two foreign languages

Qualifikationen

• PhD in humanities, social sciences or technical sciences with a focus on the history of technology (19th–20th c.).
• Specialise in the history of technology with emphasis on transport history.
• IHN PAN must be your primary place of work.
• Knowledge of two foreign languages; readiness for international mobility; independence and initiative are advantageous.

Aufgaben

• Conduct research on the history of technology and transport in the 19th–20th centuries.
• Participate in the Institute’s academic life and apply for research funding.
• Contribute to projects documenting and inventorying technical and industrial heritage.
• Cooperate with heritage conservation services and help organise postgraduate studies, conferences and seminars.
• Promote the Laboratory’s activities online and on social media.
