Job summary

A leading university in Poland is seeking a First Stage Researcher (PhD) in chemistry. The ideal candidate must hold a doctoral degree and demonstrate expertise in analytical chemistry and related fields. Responsibilities include conducting research and teaching. This full-time position is not funded by EU programs and is expected to start on January 1, 2026.

Offer Description

The competition is open to persons who meet the conditions set out in Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 - Law on higher education and science (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668) and the following qualification criteria:

  • Field-specific education in chemistry;
  • A doctoral degree in the discipline of chemical sciences;
  • Knowledge in the discipline of chemical sciences in the areas of analytical chemistry, spectroscopy, materials chemistry, coordination chemistry and inorganic chemistry confirmed by the subject of original scientific publications;
  • Research experience in higher education institutions, confirmed by a record of scientific achievements in the discipline of chemical sciences;
  • Knowledge and ability to conduct scientific research using methods such as: SEM, TEM, AFM, TVD, spectroscopy IR, UV-Vis, NMR, ellipsometry, thermal analysis; MS, X-ray, Hirshfeld surface analysis confirmed by publications;
  • Experience in performing diffraction measurements (including on synchrotron lines), solving structures, and the ability to interpret data using: Platon, Mercury, Diamond, CrystalExplorer;
  • Ability to build sensory systems, composites, and OLED diodes, confirmed by publications or described in a doctoral thesis;
  • Implementation of scientific projects from external sources, with particular emphasis on European grants;
  • Leadership or participation in other research projects;
  • Completed international scientific internships;
  • Teaching experience, including in the field of analytical and instrumental chemistry;
  • High motivation for scientific research work, confirmed by a scientific research plan and a list of scientific and didactic trainings, presented in written form by the Candidate;
  • Proficiency in Polish and English at a level enabling to teach university courses;
  • Ability to write and edit scientific articles in English, confirmed by publications.
