LHH is seeking a senior Applied AI Data Scientist for manufacturing to work on the shop floor and with business teams, identifying opportunities where Data & AI can make a real impact and delivering practical solutions that drive measurable value.
You will translate business challenges into technical outcomes, collaborate with the Data Science & Engineering team and IT, and own initiatives from idea through implementation to adoption, ensuring business value and user adoption.
Applied AI Data Scientist - Manufacturing
Other organizations might call this role an Applied AI Lead, AI Product Owner, Senior Data & AI Consultant, Applied Data Scientist, or Analytics Consultant.
Titles vary - what matters is that this is a senior, hands-on role focused on understanding business problems, working closely with stakeholders, and delivering practical Data & AI solutions that create measurable business value. We are not looking for someone who simply builds models in isolation or manages projects - we are looking for someone who enjoys solving real business challenges using modern Data & AI technologies.
This is not a traditional Data Scientist role.
We are looking for someone who wants to spend time on the shop floor, in the office, and with the business, understanding how things really work and identifying opportunities where Data & AI can make a real impact.
You will work closely with manufacturing, planning, commercial, and operations teams to understand their challenges, identify high-value opportunities, and deliver practical solutions that become part of everyday business operations.
This role combines strong technical capabilities with excellent communication skills. Success comes from understanding business, asking the right questions, and pragmatically applying Data & AI technologies to solve meaningful problems.
You will work closely with the Data Science & Engineering team while taking ownership of your own initiatives from idea through implementation to business adoption.
Your success will not be measured by the number of models you build. It will be measured by better business decisions, improved processes, time saved, and solutions that people genuinely use.
Our Client global industrial technology company serving the steel and foundry industries.
In this role, your primary focus will be improving how the business operates. You will work closely with manufacturing, operations, planning, commercial, and technical teams to develop practical Data & AI solutions that improve quality, optimize costs, reduce waste, support better decision-making, and become part of the company's everyday operations.
Our culture is built around our CORE values:
Hybrid working model - around 50% office presence. Regular collaboration with manufacturing sites and business stakeholders is expected.
Occasional international travel - typically up to once per quarter for around 3/4 days.
