Application Engineer
Aftermarket Poland & Baltics

We are seeking an engaged and motivated Application Engineer to join our engineering team. As an Application Engineer at SKF, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a well-established and expanding array of industrial companies across a variety of sectors.

The core responsibilities of this position include actively supporting customers, identifying opportunities for solution development, and promoting our extensive range of products and solutions for rotational equipment.

This role allows you to act as a vital link between customers, sales, and product development, thereby cultivating and unlocking business potential. Additionally, you will have the chance to enhance your engineering skills, contributing to the advancement of our future business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify customer technical issues, analyze requirements, and communicate them clearly to both the customer and SKF internally.
  • Review rotational bearing applications and prepare application engineering proposals and customized solutions based on customer needs.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to generate opportunities, support customer value proposals, and proactively join projects following the SKF Sales Excellence approach.
  • Manage customer relationships at the engineering level and develop long-term cooperation through technical support.
  • Use SKF engineering software, verify and interpret results, and perform Bearing Damage Analysis and Application Reviews to optimize performance.
  • Coordinate design, testing, and sample shop activities for development projects and conduct technical risk assessments.
  • Contribute to internal and external training by acting as a trainer and developing training materials.
  • Represent SKF through customer visits, presentations, seminars, and fairs.
  • Provide shared support via Quick Technical Support mailbox and lead technical meetings when needed.
We expect you to have
  • An engineering degree and at least 1-2 years of experience in the engineering field.
  • Strong engineering background with the ability to navigate technical issues.
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge paired with analytical skills for problem resolution.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding technical drawings.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and a knack for selling.
  • Effective communication skills and fluency in both Polish and English, written and verbal, are required for the role.

Some additional information

The position is ideally based in our office in Katowice, Warsaw or Poznan, Poland. In this role you need to be able and willing to travel 30-40% of the time.

We offer the flexibility of working from home approximately 2 days a week.
