Job summary

GlobalLogic is seeking an Android Automotive Platform Lead to own the Android-based infotainment platform. The role requires hands-on expertise in Android Platform Development, AOSP, BSP integration, and Embedded Linux, with responsibility for platform stability and OEM collaboration.

You will lead issue resolution, drive OS upgrades and security updates, and coordinate with engineering teams to deliver timely fixes and releases.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical health, stability, and evolution of the Android infotainment platform.
• Lead BSP and Android platform maintenance activities.
• Analyze, debug, and resolve complex platform-level issues.
• Drive Android OS upgrades, security updates, and platform enhancements.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for the OEM customer.
• Lead discussions related to platform issues, enhancements, and software improvements.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to deliver fixes and software releases.
• Perform root cause analysis for complex platform problems.

Requirements

Experience Required:

• 10+ years of embedded software development experience
• 5+ years of experience in Android platform development.
• Experience leading technical discussions with OEMs or Tier-1 customers.
• Experience supporting software maintenance and production programs.

Required Technical Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with Android Open Source Project (AOSP).
• Deep understanding of Android platform architecture.
• Strong experience in BSP development and maintenance.
• Good understanding of:
  Linux Kernel
  Device drivers
  Bootloader
  Board bring-up activities
  Hardware-software integration
• Experience with automotive SoCs such as Qualcomm Snapdragon, NXP, Renesas, or similar platforms.
• Experience working on Android Automotive OS (AAOS) based infotainment systems.
• Understanding of automotive communication protoco – CAN / Ethernet / SOME/IP (preferred)
• Experience with vehicle integration and OEM collaboration.
• Understanding of automotive software development lifecycle

Job responsibilities

Android Automotive Platform Lead will take technical ownership of an existing Android-based infotainment platform. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Android Platform Development, AOSP, BSP integration, and Embedded Linux. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining platform stability, driving technical solutions, leading issue resolution, and acting as the primary technical interface between the engineering team and the OEM customer.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the technical health, stability, and evolution of the Android infotainment platform.
• Lead BSP and Android platform maintenance activities.
• Analyze, debug, and resolve complex platform-level issues.
• Drive Android OS upgrades, security updates, and platform enhancements.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for the OEM customer.
• Lead technical discussions related to platform issues, enhancements, and software improvements.
• Provide technical recommendations, impact assessments, and solution proposals.
• Participate in customer reviews, defect triaging, architecture discussions, and technical decision forums.
• Lead investigation of field issues and customer-reported defects.
• Perform root cause analysis for complex platform and system-level problems.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to deliver fixes and software releases.
• Ensure timely resolution of critical issues impacting product quality.
• Review technical solutions, patches, and changes before integration into production branches.
• Review architecture designs, technical proposals, and code changes.
• Identify technical risks and define mitigation strategies.
