Job summary

Nordea is seeking an AI Gateway Product Owner to shape the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of our enterprise AI Gateway platform. You will define how LLMs, MCPs, and A2A patterns are exposed securely across Nordea, aligning with governance and risk requirements across multiple clouds.

You will partner with engineering, architecture, and compliance to drive onboarding of new use cases and ensure a strong developer experience, while delivering measurable governance and adoption outcomes.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Drive onboarding of new use cases including LLM access via Bedrock and Gemini AI; MCP servers; A2A patterns.
• Collaborate with engineering and self-service portal teams to ensure developer experience translates to roadmap delivery.
• Define and track metrics for platform adoption, governance coverage, and operational maturity.

As part of Nordea's 2030 strategic direction, we are modernizing our technology and data estate while accelerating the adoption of AI-enabled capabilities across the bank. We are looking for an AI Gateway Product Owner to join our team and drive the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of our enterprise AI Gateway platform. The role includes defining how LLMs, MCPs, and A2A patterns are securely and consistently exposed across Nordea, working closely with engineers, architects, AI governance, risk and compliance stakeholders, and consuming teams across the bank.

About Our Team

The Data Mesh and AI Platforms team is part of the Integration and AI unit. We provide the integration platforms that connect Nordea, including Kong and Kafka, and we are now extending that same platform approach to an AI Gateway covering LLMs, MCP, and A2A. You will help shape the product vision for platforms that support predictive AI, generative AI, and agentic workflows in a regulated banking environment, with a strong focus on secure infrastructure, automated provisioning, identity integration, and reusable engineering patterns.

The team works closely with engineers, architects, cybersecurity, data governance, risk and compliance, and cloud platform teams to ensure our solutions are pragmatic, compliant, and production-ready. You will be expected to combine strong product ownership with platform and governance expertise, and the ability to explain complex platform choices clearly to different stakeholder groups.

This is a full-time permanent position with a hybrid working arrangement - up to 40% remote work is possible, but full remote work is not allowed. We expect to hire in one of these cities: Gdańsk or Gdynia, Poland; Copenhagen, Denmark or Helsinki, Finland.

What You'll Be Doing

Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Own and evolve the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Nordea's AI Gateway and AI Registry capabilities.
• Translate regulatory requirements—including the EU AI Act, DORA, and GDPR—into concrete platform capabilities and prioritized backlog items.
• Act as the primary point of contact between engineering, architecture, risk and compliance, and business stakeholders consuming AI capabilities.
• Drive onboarding of new use cases onto the platform, including LLM access via AWS Bedrock and GCP Gemini AI, MCP servers, and A2A agent-to-agent patterns.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams, architects, and the self-service portal team to ensure the roadmap translates into a strong developer experience.
• Define and track success metrics for platform adoption, governance coverage, and operational maturity.
• Represent the AI Gateway platform in governance forums and support leadership updates on capability coverage and roadmap progress.

Who You Are

This is the right role for you if:

• You are an experienced Product Owner: You know how to build and prioritize a roadmap, write clear requirements, and balance stakeholder needs against technical and regulatory constraints.
• You understand platform and API/AI governance: You have experience with API management, gateway patterns, or platform governance in a regulated environment.
• You understand AI: Knowledge of how agents, MCP, and A2A work is critical, along with how to secure and govern them through a gateway across different clouds and cloud-native AI stacks.

What We're Looking For

Education and Experience:

• A BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Informatics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Professional experience as a Product Owner, Platform Architect, or similar role within technology or platform engineering.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Product Owner of a technical platform.
• Experience working with API management or gateway platforms (e.g., Kong, IBM API Connect/DataPower, Apigee, or Cloud Gateways).
• Hands-on experience with LLM gateways or model/agent onboarding workflows.
• Knowledge of how agents, MCP, and A2A work, and how to secure and govern them through a gateway across different clouds and cloud-native AI stacks.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and their native AI stacks (e.g., Bedrock, Gemini AI).
• Experience working in agile delivery teams (backlog management, prioritization, sprint planning).
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including with architecture, risk, compliance, and engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kong API/AI Gateway specifically.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks relevant to financial services, such as the EU AI Act, DORA, or GDPR.
• Background in banking, financial services, or another regulated industry.
