Job summary

Qualifications

• PhD in medical sciences, veterinary sciences, biological sciences, or related field.

• Documented 10+ years in histology lab including microtome/cryostat use.
• Compliance with WIB Programme non-competition policy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tissue specimens and perform slide scanning.

• Present results in team meetings and conferences.

Project: “Personalized antibody-drug conjugates activated by matrix metalloproteinases for solid tumors”, acronym: PACMAN, Virtual Research Institute (WIB); managing entity: Łukasiewicz Research Network – PORT; project leader: Marcin Poręba, PhD, DSc, Prof. of WUST. The PACMAN project aims to develop a new class of antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs) that do not require internalization and are selectively activated extracellularly by matrix metalloproteinases (MMP-2, MMP-9, MMP-14) in the solid tumor microenvironment.

Position description:Preparation of tissue samples, slide scanning, data digitization, and analysis. Collaboration in the integration of molecular and imaging data.

Responsibilities:Preparation of tissue specimens, as well scanning and digitization of slides/specimens. Data analysis, report preparation, and presentation of results at team meetings and conferences.

Skills/Qualifications

• PhD degree in medical sciences, veterinary sciences, biological sciences, or a related field
• knowledge of tissue specimen preparation and imaging techniques,
• documented minimum 10 years of professional experience in a histology laboratory, including operation of a microtome, cryostat, embedding station, and tissue processor
• complying with the non-competition policy following the WIB Programme guidelines.
