Job summary

National Bank of Pakistan invites applications for Unit Head CBA Development (VP) in Karachi. Leading a team of software developers, you will drive core banking applications upgrades, mentor developers and coordinate with project managers to optimize resources and delivery.

The role requires 8+ years in financial/banking software development, strong Java/J2EE, and C#/.NET expertise, with experience in CBA platforms (FIS preferred).

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelors degree in IT / Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent and / or Graduation with a Masters degree in IT / Computer Science or equivalent, from a local or international university / college / institute recognized by the HEC of Pakistan
• Candidates having relevant certification(s) will be preferred
• Minimum 08 years of experience in Software Development of Financial and / or Banking Applications
• Candidates having experience of Core Banking Applications of FIS Profile will be given preference

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software developers and deliver solutions on Core Banking Applications day-to-day initiatives and software upgrade streams
• Mentor, provide technical guidance and help build the software development team
• Work effectively with project managers to allocate resources across projects
• Manage development and deployment of new applications, systems, software, and enhancements
• Implement processes and metrics to improve team performance
• Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, speed, innovation and excellence
• Translate business requirements into product design and develop program logic
• Code, test, debug, document, implement and maintain software applications
• Provide application support for software already in production
• Test and integrate application components
• Write technical specifications and documentation
• Develop software test plans and QA procedures
• Ensure system improvements are implemented successfully
• Recommend development of new code or reuse of existing code
• Perform other assignments as needed by supervisors
