AI Governance & Risk Consultant – Role Description

We are seeking a seasoned AI Governance & Risk Consultant to lead and support AI governance CoE and engagements across global clients. The ideal candidate will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in AI governance, risk, and compliance, with a strong understanding of international AI regulations, standards, and frameworks. This role demands a strategic thinker with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with technical and functional teams to guide the development and implementation of responsible AI programs.

Expected Experience

• Lead AI governance and risk engagements across industries and geographies.
• Developed, implemented, and assessed AI governance frameworks aligned with global standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 42001).
• Advise clients on compliance with emerging AI regulations (EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, OECD, etc.).
• Conduct risk assessments and gap analyses for AI systems and models.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Data Science, Legal, Compliance, IT) to embed governance controls in AI lifecycle.
• Act as SME to guide clients on responsible AI practices, ethical considerations, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Support the design and rollout of AI policies, procedures, and governance operating models.
• Monitor regulatory developments and translate them into actionable insights for clients.
• Deliver workshops, training sessions, and stakeholder briefings on AI governance and risk.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 6+ years of experience in Governance, Risk & Compliance, with at least 2+ years focused on AI governance.
• Proven experience in developing or implementing AI governance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of global AI regulations and standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 42001, EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF).
• Familiarity with AI/ML technologies and lifecycle, including model development, deployment, and monitoring.
• Experience in consulting or advisory roles is a plus.
