Qualcomm's IT organization is looking for an experienced leader with strong functional, technical, business and people skills to lead the SW Engineering IT function from the Hyderabad, India office. This position reports to the India IT GCC Leader (with a matrix link to the Global Engineering IT Leader).

Responsibilities
  • Partner with local and global Software Engineering Leadership and drive IT strategy in alignment with Global product & business roadmaps.
  • Run Global SW Engineering Operations providing support of Build, Release, Test, Scan, Source Code Management, Distribution Systems, etc.
  • Manage Software Engineering CI/CD, Cloud/Hybrid Cloud and DevOps integration with Engineering IT toolset.
  • Develop & Support ALM and Custom Engineering Tools/Applications & Solutions using full-stack development.
  • Manage installations, operations & support of Engineering Tools & platforms (e.g., Electric Commander, Jenkins, Git/Gerrit, Static Analysis, Chef, Perforce, Atlassian suite).
  • Support SW Engineering labs in Hyderabad, Chennai & Bangalore.
  • Advocate AI tools adoption within the Engineering Development teams.
  • Serve as a technical IT resource at various levels of the SW Engineering IT value proposition as required by Engineering Partners and Emerging business units.
  • Ensure IT needs of the business unit are met efficiently, enabling the Engineering community to focus on business strategy and IT tools, applications & infrastructure.
  • Support the engineering community from a business operations perspective to keep schedules and commitments on track with Qualcomm IT resources and expertise.
  • Interact with IT Service Groups and be aware of Qualcomm Engineering Compute IT- and Corporate IT- provided solutions, services, and technologies that may impact project scope, direction, or schedule; provide a single geographic point of contact into Engineering Compute and IT.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 20+ years of IT experience including IT management with a focus on Software Engineering IT, tools, infrastructure, applications, supervision, architecture, security/compliance, and budgetary responsibility.
  • 10+ years leading highly technical IT teams supporting semiconductor design engineering for Software Engineering environments (Build Infrastructure, Release systems, Distribution systems, SCM, CI/CD).
  • 5+ years managing an IT organization of 75+ non-matrixed employees.
  • Solid knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle for the semiconductor domain.
  • Proven leadership with strong strategic thinking and execution; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to a wide audience and establish credibility at all levels.
  • Experience leading or participating in global technical teams and projects; track record of cross-organizational collaboration.
  • Experience managing Software Engineering CI/CD and DevOps toolchain (Electric Commander, Jenkins, Git/Gerrit, Static Analysis, Chef, Perforce) and demonstrated operational excellence.
  • Experience in design thinking implementation.
Education
  • Preferred: Master’s in Computer Engineering and/or Computer Networks & Systems and/or Electrical Engineering and/or VLSI & Embedded Systems.
  • Required: Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering and/or Computer Networks & Systems and/or Computer Science and/or VLSI & Embedded Systems.
