Job summary

Abacus in Nairobi is seeking a seasoned Infrastructure & Networking SME with deep GCP, cloud networking, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Apigee expertise. You will design, provision, and manage secure cloud landing zones and networking environments to support enterprise API management and federated architectures.

The role involves collaborating with architecture, DevOps, and application teams to ensure scalability, security, and high availability, along with implementing CI/CD and DevOps

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Deep expertise in GCP Networking and Security.
• Experience with Apigee platform deployment and networking integration.
• Experience with Linux scripting.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and provision secure GCP landing zones for enterprise environments.
• Configure and manage GCP networking components (VPCs, Subnets, Firewall Rules, Cloud NAT, Load Balancers, Private Service Connect, Hybrid Connectivity).
• Implement IAM policies and cloud security best practices.
• Deploy and manage infrastructure using Terraform (IaC).
• Support deployment and networking for Apigee, DevPortal, and federated multi-environment architectures.
• Deploy and manage containerized workloads with Docker and Kubernetes (GKE preferred).
• Collaborate with architecture, DevOps, and application teams for provisioning and troubleshooting.
• Ensure scalability, HA, monitoring, and security compliance.
• Support CI/CD integration and automation initiatives.
• Troubleshoot cloud networking, DNS, routing, and connectivity issues.

We are looking for a highly skilled and qualified Subject Matter Expert - Networking & Infrastructure to join Abacus in Nairobi.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure & Networking SME with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), cloud networking, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Apigee platforms. The candidate will be responsible for designing, provisioning, and managing secure cloud landing zones and networking environments supporting enterprise API management and federated architectures.

Location: Pakistan, India, Kenya, Egypt, Jordan

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, implement, and provision secure GCP landing zones for enterprise environments
• Configure and manage GCP networking components including:
  • VPCs
  • Subnets
  • Firewall Rules
  • Cloud NAT
  • Load Balancers
  • Private Service Connect
  • Hybrid Connectivity solutions
• Implement IAM policies and cloud security best practices
• Deploy and manage infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
• Support deployment and networking requirements for:

  • Federated and multi-environment architectures

MANDATORY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Deep expertise in GCP Networking and Security
• Hands-on experience with:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

7+ years of relevant experience in cloud infrastructure and networking

Prior experience in enterprise-scale GCP implementations is highly preferred
