Job summary

MS General Contractor in Karachi is seeking a competent Quantity Surveyor with 3-5 years of hands-on experience to manage cost control and estimation across residential, commercial, and interior fit-out projects.

The role involves developing detailed BOQs, taking-off quantities from drawings, preparing cost estimates, reviewing supplier bills, and supporting tender preparation. You will work closely with project managers and procurement teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or DAE in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in construction estimation and quantity surveying.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, AutoCAD and estimation software.
• Solid grasp of construction drawings, BOQs, specifications and material requirements.
• Familiarity with Karachi market rates, labour costs and material pricing.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed Bills of Quantities for civil, architectural, interior fit-out, finishing, and MEP works.
• Carry out quantity take-offs from architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets and conduct rate analyses.
• Review and validate bills from contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Perform market rate studies and compare material costs.
• Track project expenditures, material usage and budget deviations.
• Draft variation orders, additional work estimates and update BOQs accordingly.
• Verify site measurements and reconcile actual quantities with approved BOQs.
• Support tender preparation, evaluate quotations and assist procurement negotiations.
• Maintain cost reports, billing records and project documentation while coordinating with project managers, site supervisors, consultants and procurement teams.
