Job summary

Contour Software in Karachi is seeking a SQA Trainee to join its QA team, progressing from training to apprenticeship with potential for a full-time role.

The ideal candidate has a University degree in CS/IT, knowledge of SDLC and QA concepts, basics of OOP, and SQL. Familiarity with automation tools (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress) and Git is a plus. Strong English communication is essential.

The Division: RazorSync, a division of Harris Computer Systems (an operating group of Constellation Software Inc.), offers cloud-based Field Service Management (FSM) software designed for small-to-mid-sized businesses. It provides a mobile and desktop platform to streamline operations for industries like HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and landscaping.

Key Features: Scheduling and dispatching, route optimization, automated invoicing, customer management (CRM), and mobile payment processing. Target Market: SMBs in the service industry looking to eliminate paperwork and improve field-to-office communication. Integration: Primarily integrates with QuickBooks for accounting and bookkeeping.

The Position

The division is looking to hire an SQA Trainee to be a member of its QA team. The selected Intern would progress from training to apprenticeship, to potentially a full-time permanent employment role in the Contour Software Karachi office, working as part of the resource-center team, as an extension of the onshore R&D team.

Required Skills & Experience

University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, and/or related discipline. New/Recent/Soon to Graduate Computer Science & Software Engineering graduates are encouraged to apply. Familiar with the software development lifecycle and software quality assurance & testing concepts. OOPs concepts – basics of classes, objects, inheritance, polymorphism. Database fundamentals – SQL queries, joins, basic CRUD operations. Basic automation tools familiarity – Selenium, Playwright, Cypress. Basic version control knowledge – Git/GitHub (commits, branches, pull requests) Knowledge of mobile application technologies and testing framework would be an asset. Ability to evaluate a system, understand complexities, identify weaknesses/bottlenecks. Must have good analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Technical skills: General: MS Office, Outlook, SharePoint, MS Teams, WebEx Operating Systems: MS Server, Windows Database: SQL Server Tools: Visual Studio, DevOps
