Alykas, Islamabad-based, seeks a SOC Analyst L1 to monitor security events and support incident response for US-based clients. You will operate in a multi-tenant SOC, perform initial triage, investigate alerts, and document findings as part of a hands-on cybersecurity team.

You will gain exposure to leading technologies (SIEM/EDR/XDR) and contribute to threat detection and ongoing SOC improvements, with mentorship and growth toward SOC Analyst L2 and related specializations.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of SOC/IT security experience.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, networking, and operating systems.
• Familiarity with SIEM, EDR, XDR or Email Security platforms.
• Understanding of common cyber threats and incident response fundamentals.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Fluent English communication (written and verbal).

Responsabilités

• Monitor security alerts and events generated by our security solutions.
• Perform initial triage and analysis of security alerts for legitimacy and severity.
• Investigate Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) and document findings.
• Escalate confirmed or suspicious incidents per procedures.
• Create and maintain case notes, investigation records, and incident reports.
• Assist in identifying malicious activity and emerging threats.
• Support threat hunting and security monitoring initiatives as directed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of SOC processes and detection capabilities.

Job Summary

As a SOC Analyst L1 at Alykas, you will be the first line of defense in protecting our clients from cybersecurity threats. Working within a multi-tenant Security Operations Center (SOC), you will monitor security events, investigate alerts, perform initial triage, and support incident response activities for multiple US-based clients. This role is ideal for security professionals looking to build hands-on experience with leading cybersecurity technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events generated by our advanced security solutions.
• Perform initial triage and analysis of security alerts to determine legitimacy and severity.
• Investigate Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) and document findings accurately.
• Escalate confirmed or suspicious security incidents according to established procedures.
• Create and maintain detailed case notes, investigation records, and incident reports.
• Assist in identifying malicious activity, suspicious behavior, and emerging threats.
• Support threat hunting and security monitoring initiatives as directed by senior analysts.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of SOC processes and detection capabilities.

Must-Haves

• 1-2 years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC), IT Security, or related cybersecurity role.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, networking, and operating systems.
• Familiarity with SOC technologies such as SIEM, EDR, XDR, or Email Security platforms.
• Understanding of common cyber threats, attack vectors, and incident response fundamentals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent English communication skills (both written and verbal), essential for working with Alykas's international clients.

Nice-to-Haves (Plusses)

• Relevant certifications such as Security+, ISC2 CC, SC-900, BTL1, or equivalent.
• Experience working with Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
• Exposure to Linux and Windows administration and basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, or threat intelligence concepts.
• Hands-on experience through cybersecurity labs, internships, CTFs, or personal projects.
