Position Overview

The Agency Trade Analyst supports the Trade Management function by providing analytical, coordination, and reporting support to ensure vessel space utilization, accurate forecasting, and profitable cargo mix. The role works closely with the sales, operations, and trade teams to align local performance with regional and head office trade strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in analyzing vessel profiles and sales forecasts prepared by the commercial team, ensuring data accuracy and alignment with Regional Office (RO) and Head Office (HO) trade lines.
  • Prepare and submit accurate weekly sales forecasts and trade performance reports for management review and action.
  • Support in managing and coordinating cargo allocations to optimize vessel filling factors and cargo mix (CSA, COA, LTL).
  • Assist in optimizing cargo mix and vessel space utilization to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Collaborate with the Lines on issues related to pricing, routing, and trade performance, providing timely input and recommendations.
  • Contribute to the identification of new business opportunities by analyzing market trends and customer behavior.
  • Stay informed about market developments, competitor activities, and trade dynamics to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Support digitalization initiatives within the agency, aligning with the company’s SpotON program, to enhance reporting and analytical efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate and updated trade-related data in internal systems and reports.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Maritime Studies, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Preferably 2–4 years of experience in shipping, trade management, or commercial analysis (liner shipping experience preferred).
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities to work effectively across departments and with regional/global teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of trade operations, cargo allocation, and pricing principles is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with digital transformation or process improvement initiatives is desirable.
