M365Consult is seeking a Senior Mobile & Platform Engineer to connect Android and iOS development with backend services, databases, and infrastructure. You will shape architecture, improve delivery workflows, and support the team across platforms in a fully remote, long-term role.

Your responsibilities include leading design decisions, maintaining shared components, and guiding CI/CD and AI-driven coding workflows.

We are looking for a senior engineer who can connect mobile development, backend services, databases, and infrastructure into a reliable development and delivery process.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mobile & Platform Engineer who can work across Android and iOS, contribute to our Kotlin Multiplatform architecture, and support our dedicated developers on both platforms.

Your main focus will be enabling the team to deliver effectively: resolving technical challenges, maintaining shared components, improving development workflows, and managing the backend and infrastructure that support the application.

You will also contribute directly to implementation where needed. Depending on your experience and suitability, the role may include technical team leadership for our Android and iOS developers.

Strong GitHub, GitHub Actions, and runner-management experience is essential. Practical experience with AI-assisted and agentic development is equally important.

Key Responsibilities

• Support our Android and iOS developers with technical decisions, debugging, code reviews, and integration challenges.
• Develop and maintain shared application logic using Kotlin Multiplatform.
• Contribute to native Android and iOS development where platform-specific work is required.
• Maintain a clear architecture across mobile applications, backend services, APIs, and databases.
• Develop and maintain backend functionality and server-side integrations.
• Manage database changes, investigate data-related issues, and maintain reliable migration, backup, and recovery processes.
• Build and improve CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot GitHub runners, including self-hosted runners.
• Improve build reliability, automated testing, deployment processes, and development environments.
• Manage server-side application deployments, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Establish effective AI-assisted and agentic coding workflows across the team.
• Review AI-generated code and ensure that changes are tested, understandable, secure, and maintainable.
• Help developers and junior team members use AI tools effectively through practical demonstrations and knowledge sharing.
• Where appropriate, act as technical team lead: coordinate dependencies, guide implementation, review technical decisions, and help the team resolve blockers.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated senior-level experience in mobile software development.
• Strong Kotlin and Android development experience, together with practical Swift and iOS development experience.
• Solid hands-on experience with Kotlin Multiplatform and integrating shared code into both mobile platforms.
• The ability to investigate problems across mobile clients, APIs, backend services, databases, and infrastructure.
• Practical backend development experience and a sound understanding of API design, authentication, and application security.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience, including schema changes, migrations, and performance troubleshooting.
• Hands-on DevOps experience with Linux servers, application deployment, configuration, and operational troubleshooting.
• Excellent Git and GitHub knowledge, including pull requests, code reviews, branch workflows, and repository configuration.
• Strong experience with GitHub Actions and configuring and maintaining GitHub runners.
• Substantial experience using AI coding assistants and coding agents to deliver working software.
• The ability to establish development workflows that combine coding agents, automated checks, and human review.
• Clear communication, practical documentation skills, and a willingness to share knowledge.
• The ability to work independently while supporting other developers constructively.
• Interest in a long-term, full-time position and availability to start promptly after an agreement is reached.

Especially Valuable Experience

• Previous experience as a technical lead or senior engineer supporting a mobile development team.
• GPS, BLE, UWB, NFC, or other location and proximity technologies.
• Testing mobile applications on real devices and investigating platform-specific behavior.
• Container-based application deployment and reproducible development environments.
• Monitoring, incident diagnosis, and maintaining reliable backend services.
• Coordinating changes that affect mobile applications, backend APIs, and database structures together.

Potential Technical Team Lead Responsibilities

For a suitable candidate, the role can include technical leadership of our Android and iOS developers.

This would involve helping the team make consistent technical decisions, breaking down implementation work, coordinating shared dependencies, and maintaining the quality of delivered changes. You should be comfortable mentoring developers and taking responsibility for the technical direction while remaining actively involved in engineering.
