PackageX, Inc. is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Full Stack) to design, build, and scale services and APIs that power our physical logistics platform. You’ll integrate with ERP, WMS, and TMS systems, and own production services from schema to screen.
The role blends backend rigor with web UI work, requiring strong cross‑team collaboration. You’ll contribute to data models, event processing, and offline syncing while delivering reliable, scalable software across React and Svelte UIs.
PackageX builds the Physical Logistics Execution Platform for enterprise teams working across manufacturing sites, distribution centers, warehouses, retail locations, and other logistics-heavy environments.
Our platform combines Vision AI, workflow automation, mobile execution, and integrations to help companies digitize, execute, and verify physical operations at the point of work, creating trusted evidence of what actually happened.
Our operating model is simple: Execution. Verification. Evidence.
Every scan, photo, and workflow event on a customer's floor lands in our backend. The volume is real: thousands of devices sending scans and images all day, often from spots with bad connectivity, dropping offline and syncing back later. Enterprise customers notice every slow query and every lost event.
We're hiring a Senior Backend Engineer (Full Stack) to build and scale the services, APIs, and integrations that carry that load, along with the web screens customers and internal teams use to configure and run the platform. You'll work with product, mobile, AI, and implementation teams to turn messy physical operations into software that holds up in production.
The role is backend-first. You'll design data models, build services and APIs, run integrations with customer ERPs, WMSs, and TMSs, and keep the platform fast and dependable as customers scale. You'll also ship across the stack: the dashboards, configuration tools, and admin screens that sit on top of your own APIs. You'll take a feature from schema to screen without waiting on a separate frontend team, make architecture calls, own your services in production, and get pulled into customer integrations when they get hard.
This is one role with two modes, and you'll move between them often, sometimes in the same week.
Backend mode. You're in the services: designing data models and APIs, building workflow and event-processing logic, integrating with customer systems and our Vision AI pipeline, and owning what you ship in production.
Full stack mode. You're in the web app: building the dashboards, workflow configuration tools, and reporting views that customers and our implementation teams use every day, on top of the APIs you designed.
Both halves matter. If you're a backend engineer who won't touch a UI, or a frontend engineer who has never owned a production service and a database, this probably isn't your role. If you genuinely enjoy both, keep reading.
