A leading money transfer business in Pakistan is seeking a Senior Accountant (Manager Accounts) to oversee finance and accounting operations. This role involves financial management, ensuring compliance with international accounting standards, and conducting financial analyses. Candidates should have over 5 years of accounting experience, with proficiency in Xero software preferred. We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Accountant (Manager Accounts) to manage the finance and accounting operations of a leading Money Transfer and Exchange Business, operating through multiple branches and independent agents.
Based in Lahore, this role will remotely support our client’s financial operations in Timor-Leste, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance in all financial matters. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for reconciliations, reporting, cash flow management, and financial coordination with the parent company in New Zealand.
Oversee daily accounting are accurately recorded and reported. Prepare and submit monthly management reports to the parent company in New Zealand. Ensure timely reconciliations of transactions with branches, agents, and parent company accounts. Implement and manage the Xero accounting system, ensuring efficient financial reporting and system integration.
Manage reconciliations across multiple entities, ensuring inter-company and third-party accounts are fully balanced. Liaise with the parent company on reporting and accounting matters, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and timelines.
Oversee cash flow management, ensuring availability of funds for operational needs across all branches and agents. Manage currency exchange transactions, monitor cash balances, and maintain adequate liquidity for smooth operations.
Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and international accounting standards (IFRS). Develop and enforce internal control systems to minimise risks and ensure process integrity. Manage tax filings and ensure timely fulfilment of all statutory and regulatory obligations.
Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Analyse transactional data to identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions to enhance financial performance.
Education: Partially or fully qualified CA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting or finance position.
Industry Background: Prior experience in the money transfer, exchange, or financial services sectors is highly desirable.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Xero accounting software (implementation experience preferred). Strong understanding of IFRS, reconciliations, and inter-company account management. Advanced analytical and reporting capabilities.
Attention to Detail: Accuracy and precision in reconciling large volumes of financial transactions.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies efficiently.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with cross-border teams.
Organisation: Strong ability to manage multiple reconciliations, reporting cycles, and system tasks simultaneously.
