Soum is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust data infrastructure powering analytics, ML models, and decision-making. You will create scalable pipelines, integrate diverse data sources, and guarantee data quality and accessibility across the organization.

Colleagues will include data scientists, analysts, and product teams. This role offers remote work with a 9:00 AM–6:00 PM Saudi-time schedule and collaboration across a fast-growing startup in the MENA region,

Qualifications

• 4 years total IT experience, incl. 2+ years in data engineering.
• 2+ years building data pipelines in production.
• Proficient in Python and SQL.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Hands-on with Airflow and Airbyte.
• Data governance and security knowledge.
• Dataform is mandatory.
• Strong ability to elicit requirements from stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for analytics and ML.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure clean data.
• Implement data quality checks and monitoring.
• Design ETL/ELT workflows and integrate multiple data sources.
• Support cloud-based data storage and retrieval.
• Monitor and optimize real-time data flows.
• Optimize queries and cost-efficient storage.
• Document workflows and data schemas.
