Job summary

Pixalate is seeking an AI Prompt Engineer to own the production prompts and agent skills that guide IVT investigations and analytics MCP. You will write and maintain system prompts and the agent skills that decide how our agents behave: what they know, which tools they reach for, when they push back, and when to ask clarifying questions.

You will collaborate with the IQ Agent and MRT MCP teams, version prompts, and build evaluation suites to measure agent performance and catch regressions before

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, AI, ML, or related field (or exceptional research track record).
• Experience building LLM agents that shipped to real users, not just prototypes.
• Hands-on work with agent skills, plugins, system prompts, or equivalent tooling.
• Evidence of evaluation discipline: describe an eval suite, the ground truth, and a regression it caught.
• Strong written English; writing is the product.
• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript and reading codebases.
• Understanding of tool-calling/function-calling and tool selection.
• Awareness of prompt injection, PII handling, and failure modes of customer-facing AI.
• Willingness to overlap with US time zones for team meetings.
• Ad-tech, digital advertising, or fraud-detection exposure is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the system prompts and agent skills that define agent behavior.
• Design agents to ask clarifying questions and gather requirements interactively.
• Decide what belongs in a skill, a system prompt, or a tool.
• Maintain the skill library as products evolve and measure outcomes.
• Own system prompts behind client-facing agents and version prompts with change logs.
• Debug real agent failures: mis-tool selection, hallucinations, missed clarifications, context exhaustion.
• Define what is considered 'correct' for each agent and build evaluation suites.
• Work with MCP tools surfaces and tune prompts and tool descriptions for correct selection.
• Guard against prompt injection and data leakage; ensure accurate representation of findings.
