Cummins Inc. is seeking an entry-level mechanical design engineer to apply engineering principles and develop optimized design concepts using Creo, GD&T, and CAE tools.

The role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, cost, and manufacturability targets. You will contribute to product platform planning, document design decisions, and support VPI/VPCR processes while growing your technical and collaborative skills in a dynamic automotive/mechanical

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Proficiency in Creo for 3D part modeling, surface modeling, and drafting.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
• Experience with DFMEA and product failure mode avoidance.

Responsabilités

• Investigates and resolves design-related issues within cross-functional teams.
• Documents results and supports Design Review packages for PPT/VPIs/VPCRs.
• Assists concept selection, optimization, and specification development for product platforms.
• Owns moderate complexity problem resolution for components, products, or subsystems.
• Contributes to technical documentation and design validation activities.
