Job summary

UserWise, LLC in Lahore is seeking a Principal Server Engineer to own the backend systems powering our live games. You will focus on performance, scalability and reliability, collaborating with the engineering team on schema design and incident response.

Required 8+ years experience with Go and Python, strong PostgreSQL skills, Nakama expertise, and hands-on profiling. You will lead architecture for high-traffic, real-time services and contribute to a robust, scalable play backend.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Go and Python with solid runtime optimizations.
• Strong PostgreSQL design and performance tuning experience.
• Experience with Nakama/Heroic Labs and real-time game backends.
• Hands-on profiling and root-cause analysis in production.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Go/Python backend services for live, high-traffic games.
• Extend and operate Nakama for authentication, matchmaking, leaderboards, storage, RPCs, and realtime multiplayer.
• Own database schema design and query performance across PostgreSQL.
• Drive horizontal scaling with Nakama clustering and stateless services.
• Profile memory leaks, CPU spikes and deadlocks; lead root-cause investigations.
• Architect and maintain in-memory caching layers (Redis/KeyDB/Memcached).
• Design and run load tests to surface breaking points before release.
