Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Vision Science (BVS) from an HEC-recognized institution.
  • Additional training or certification in Low Vision Care / Rehabilitation preferred.
  • Valid professional registration/license to practice.
  • 3-5 years of relevant clinical optometry experience, preferably in low vision care.
  • Strong knowledge of low vision assessment, rehabilitation, ocular conditions and assistive technologies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, counseling and problem-solving skills.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive low vision examinations and functional vision assessments.
  • Assess and manage patients with low vision and visual impairment.
  • Recommend and prescribe appropriate low vision aids and assistive devices.
  • Train patients in the use of magnifiers, telescopic systems, electronic devices, and other aids.
  • Develop individualized low vision rehabilitation plans based on functional needs.
  • Educate patients and families on visual rehabilitation, adaptive techniques, and coping strategies.
  • Coordinate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals for integrated care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, clinical documentation, and progress reports.
  • Participate in low vision camps, community outreach, and awareness activities.

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
