Job summary

Karachi Metropolitan University is seeking an experienced Senior Network Administrator to manage the campus IT network, optimize performance, and enforce security policies. The role requires hands-on expertise with routers, switches, firewalls, and servers, plus leadership experience to guide a team.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years in network administration, three years in a supervisory capacity, and strong TCP/IP knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Telecom from an HEC-recognized institution.
• Minimum 5 years in network administration and security.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Proficient in TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, and servers.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in network administration, configuration, and security.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory or responsible position.
• Proficient in network management tools, routing, switching, firewalls, and server maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network protocols.
• Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
• Proficient in Windows/Linux server environments and network monitoring tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and multitasking abilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively under pressure during outages or upgrades.
