Job summary

NKU Technologies Pvt Ltd in Lahore seeks an experienced Microsoft Fabric Developer/Data Engineer to build and manage data pipelines and analytics infrastructure. This role focuses on data engineering, not traditional Power BI reporting, and involves implementing governance and optimizing Fabric workloads.

The candidate will work with Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, Lakehouse architectures, and Azure data services to deliver scalable data solutions for enterprise reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
• 2–4 years as a Data Engineer or Fabric Developer with hands-on Fabric experience.
• Strong SQL and working knowledge of PySpark/Python.
• Experience with ETL/ELT, data warehousing, and star schema models.
• Familiarity with Azure data services and data governance practices.

Responsibilities

• Build data pipelines using Data Factory and Dataflows Gen2 to ingest data from multiple sources.
• Architect and manage Lakehouse/Data Warehouse solutions and OneLake storage.
• Develop notebooks (PySpark/Python or SQL) for data transformation.
• Design semantic models optimized for Direct Lake mode.
• Implement data governance, security, and workspace access controls.
• Monitor and optimize pipeline performance and Fabric capacity usage.
• Integrate Fabric with Azure data services (Data Lake, Synapse, Azure SQL).
• Collaborate with BI developers and stakeholders on data architecture.
• Maintain technical documentation.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Fabric Developer to build and manage the data pipelines and analytics infrastructure that power enterprise reporting a data engineering–focused role distinct from a traditional Power BI report developer.

Key Responsibilities

• Build data pipelines using Data Factory and Dataflows Gen2 to ingest data from multiple sources
• Architect and manage Lakehouse/Data Warehouse solutions and OneLake storage
• Develop notebooks (PySpark/Python or SQL) for data transformation
• Design semantic models optimized for Direct Lake mode
• Implement data governance, security, and workspace access controls
• Monitor and optimize pipeline performance and Fabric capacity usage
• Integrate Fabric with Azure data services (Data Lake, Synapse, Azure SQL)
• Collaborate with BI developers and stakeholders on data architecture

Required Skills & Experience

• 2-4 years as a Data Engineer / Fabric Developer
• Hands-on experience with Fabric: Lakehouse, Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, Notebooks, OneLake, Direct Lake
• Strong SQL; working knowledge of PySpark/Python
• Data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and data modeling (star schema)
• Experience with Azure data services
• Understanding of data governance and security best practices

Preferred

• DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer) certification
• Working knowledge of Power BI/DAX
• Enterprise or multinational data environment experience

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
