Job summary

Utopia Industries in Karachi is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to install, assemble, repair and maintain production machinery to ensure reliable operations and minimize downtime.

The role requires hands-on experience with bearings, shafts and gearboxes, plus strict adherence to lockout/tagout and safety practices. You will coordinate with production and engineering and maintain maintenance records.

Qualifications

• 3+ years manufacturing maintenance experience
• Fitting, assembling and maintaining industrial machinery
• Experience with bearings, shafts, couplings, gearboxes, belts and chains
• Hydraulics and pneumatics basics
• Mechanical measurement tools: micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators
• Strong fault finding and troubleshooting ability
• Basic welding, cutting and light fabrication skills
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and reading mechanical drawings
• Ability to follow lockout/tagout procedures and safety requirements

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical faults, diagnose root causes, and perform corrective repairs.
• Assemble, fit and align shafts, bearings, couplings, and other rotating equipment; perform precision measurements and adjustments.
• Remove and replace worn parts, fabricate simple components and assist fabrication shop when required.
• Follow lockout/tagout and plant safety procedures; maintain clean, organized work areas and report hazards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, log work orders and communicate status updates to supervisors.
