Purpose

This position owns the Mobile Application Development Portfolio managing the development and modernization of mobile applications i.e., MMR, MSA, SIR and holds exceptional significance within organization as these mobile applications are essential for customer digital engagement, business operations and organizational efficiency. This position focuses on the design, development, and deployment of secure, scalable, and high-performing mobile applications through robust architecture, backend integration, data management, and performance optimization. Its focus is to ensure a seamless user experience across platforms by implementing microservices-based design, automated testing, continuous delivery, and strict adherence to security, reliability, and IT compliance standards. It also focus to implement the native and cross-platform development (Swift, Kotlin, Java, Flutter, React Native, Xamarin), API and cloud integration (AWS, Azure, Firebase), database management and synchronization, device feature integration, security implementation (encryption, OAuth 2.0, OWASP), automated testing and CI/CD setup, performance profiling, app store deployment, crash analytics, UI/UX optimization, and continuous improvement to sustain scalability and operational excellence. Any lapse in this role would disrupt mobile operations, compromise data security, and diminish customer experience, directly hindering K-Electric’s operational efficiency, digital transformation, and competitive edge. This role contributes to K-Electric’s operational efficiency through secure, user-centric mobile apps that enable faster, data-driven decisions. It also accelerates digital transformation by automating workflows and enhancing agility, customer engagement, and competitiveness.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor/Master Computer Science/Software Engineering/IT Total Experience: 8+ years in IT (minimum requirement)


• Development Experience: 6+ years in Mobile application (Native – JDK, Cross-Platform like. Flutter/React Native)


• Modern UI/UX Experience: 4+ years – Mobile application (Jetpack Compose, Google Material Design/ Apple HIG)


• Modern Application Security: 3+ years


• Mobile Development Certification - At least 2

Area of Responsibilities

1. 
   

   Mobile Application Modernization and Architecture

   
   

   Design, code, and debug scalable, high-quality features using frameworks like Flutter, React Native, or Xamarin, ensuring consistent functionality across both iOS and Android platforms.

   
   

   Develop and maintain platform-specific native code (Swift/Kotlin) for creating modules or bridges to access device-specific hardware and APIs, optimizing performance where cross-platform tools fall short.

   
   

   Architect and implement secure, robust local database solutions (e.g., SQLite, Realm) and synchronization logic to guarantee a seamless and functional user experience during periods of poor or no connectivity.

   
   

   Translate microservices designs into the mobile application structure, focusing on efficient API interaction, data marshalling, and optimized resource handling on the client side.

   
   

   Uphold rigorous code quality, maintainability, and testing standards across the unified codebase to support long-term feature growth and stability.

   
   


2. 
   

   UI/UX Engineering and Performance

   
   

   Engineer high-fidelity user interfaces, ensuring smooth rendering performance and strict adherence to platform design standards like Material Design and Apple HIG.

   
   

   Proactively utilize platform-specific profiling tools (e.g., Xcode Instruments, Android Studio Profiler) to identify and resolve code-level bottlenecks, including optimizing memory, threading, and app launch times.

   
   

   Implement, test, and optimize the secure integration of core device features (e.g., GPS, camera, biometrics, push notifications), carefully managing platform permissions and power consumption.

   
   

   Integrate and utilize crash analytics and monitoring tools to quickly diagnose, triage, and resolve production bugs and stability issues, driving continuous application reliability improvements.

   
   

   Write highly efficient, clean, and maintainable code with a strong focus on stability and resource management to deliver reliable and performant mobile experience.

   
   


3. 
   

   Modern Mobile Application Security

   
   

   Design and code application security features, including secure credential storage, advanced data encryption (at rest and in transit), and implementing OAuth 2.0 or similar protocols for secure authorization.

   
   

   Maintain all mobile code and deployed applications strictly adhere to internal IT compliance standards, external regulations, and best practices for secure development, such as defending against the OWASP Mobile Top 10 risks.

   
   

   Write and maintain a robust suite of automated tests (unit tests, widget/component tests, and UI/integration tests) across the application to ensure feature quality, prevent regressions, and validate security functionality before deployment.

   
   

   Handle the technical aspects of preparing, packaging, and submitting applications to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, including managing metadata, certificates, provisioning profiles, and coordinating version releases.

   
   


4. 
   

   Cross-Functional Coordination

   
   

   Serving as the key link between the development team and non-technical stakeholders (BPs, Business Users), translating technical risks and decisions into business language.

   
   

   Coordinating with backend Developer, and infrastructure teams to resolve technical dependencies and ensure correct feature sequencing and resource allocation for releases.

   
   

   Collaborating with technical teams to unify and standardize development tools, CI/CD pipelines, and security practices across the wider organization.

   People Management

   
   

   Supervise and mentor the mobile development team to support professional growth and ensure project success.

   
   

   Promote ongoing technical learning and enforce coding and documentation standards for high-quality, maintainable code.
