Job Objective
This position of Manager (Energy Contract) is to vet the draft agreements and assist in negotiable aspects of the contract pertaining to agreement dealing with transmission of energy and allied matters and to provide legal opinion on concerned contractual affairs.
Job Description & Responsibilities
- To assist Chief Law Officer (CLO) in handling the contracts / agreements dealing with transmission of energy and allied matters from a legal perspective
- Provide assistance in negotiating, drafting and/or vetting of various kinds of agreements, deeds and instruments
- Assisting in negotiating, drafting and vetting of agreements with independent power producers and generation companies like Tripartite PPAs (TPPAs) and security documents such as Direct Agreement to PPA
- Liaise with external legal counsel when engaged for review of draft contract terms
- Manage the quality of all services and work-products delivered by the Contracts section to ensure strategic alignment and compliance with established policies and procedures
- Provide direction and manage subordinate staff in performing the delegated tasks
- Define and manage the level of performance required to achieve KPIs assigned by the CLO
- Ensure that all technology needs of the Contracts section are identified and communicated to the CLO and concerned department
- Provide professional development and perform periodic performance appraisals for the subordinate staff
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by the CLO
Required Qualification and Specification
- Bachelor degree in Law with post qualification experience of 8 years, including at least 3 years of law practice and a minimum of 3 years of dealing in corporate and regulatory affairs through a law firm and/or as in‑house counsel in a corporate organization
- Master in Law or Barrister at Law will be an additional advantage
- Incumbent must be computer literate
- Knowledge of laws dealing with the electricity sector will be an additional advantage
- Maximum age limit: 40 years on the closing date of application

- Positions are on a lump sum pay‑package and the selected candidate will be offered a market‑competitive package commensurate with his/her qualifications and experience.
- The selected candidate can be posted anywhere in Pakistan as per the requirement of the company.
