Job summary

The Machine Technician at Pharma Care Pack in Korangi, Karachi will maintain and troubleshoot packaging machinery across production lines to ensure uptime, quality and safety in a regulated environment. You will coordinate with production, maintenance and quality teams to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic), machine set-ups, changeovers and maintaining maintenance logs, while following GMP and cleanroom

Qualifications

• Reading mechanical drawings and interpreting gear/mechanical layouts.
• Electrical and pneumatic troubleshooting including wiring, sensors, and solenoids.
• Experience with packaging equipment such as cartoners, blister machines, filling or sealing machines.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments and alignment techniques.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and spare-parts control.
• Root-cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
• Strong communication and teamwork, able to support shift handovers.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance and calibration of packaging machines, conveyors and auxiliary equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults and carry out timely repairs to restore production.
• Disassemble and reassemble machine components, replace worn parts, and adjust mechanisms to ensure correct operation and product specifications.
• Set up machines for production runs, changeovers and format adjustments while minimizing waste and downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, report recurring issues and recommend improvements to enhance equipment uptime.
• Follow safety protocols, cleanroom/GMP-related procedures, and cooperate with quality control during equipment validations.

Job Specification

• Mechanical skills: experience with gearboxes, bearings, couplings, shafts, belts and chain drives; able to read mechanical drawings.
• Electrical & pneumatic troubleshooting: wiring, motors, sensors, solenoids and air systems; read basic electrical schematics.
• Packaging equipment experience: cartoners, blister machines, filling or sealing machines or general production machinery.
• Hands-on tools: competent with hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments and alignment techniques.
• Maintenance practices: preventive maintenance programs, maintenance logs and spare-parts control.
• Problem solving: fault isolation, root-cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
