Job summary

NorthBay Solutions LLC is seeking a skilled Linux Administrator to manage and secure Linux-based infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and automation. The role emphasizes reliability, performance, and security across servers and services.

You will implement hardening, monitor health, and collaborate with DevOps, Network, and Security teams to support enterprise IT operations. On-call may be required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Linux administration experience on enterprise systems.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, HTTP/HTTPS, NTP.
• Bash/Shell scripting and automation tooling.
• Experience with security hardening and vulnerability remediation.
• Experience with system performance monitoring and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and OS.
• Perform provisioning, patching, upgrades, and config management.
• Implement security hardening per policies and best practices.
• Manage users, sudo access, SSH, and services.
• Monitor health, resources, and performance; troubleshoot issues.
• Automate tasks using Bash, Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Maintain backups, recovery, and DR procedures.
• Coordinate with Network, Security, DevOps, and Apps teams.
