Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi is hiring a Laboratory Attendant (BPS-01/02) on a regular basis. The role involves handling glassware, autoclaves, soil sample preparation, and maintaining lab safety and cleanliness.

The selected candidate should have Matriculation with Science or Middle and up to 1 year of lab experience. The position offers a monthly pay between PKR 35,000 and PKR 50,000 under the BPS-01/02 government pay scale.

Qualifications

• Prescribed Experience & Eligibility Criteria 1 year experience in a school, college, or university scientific laboratory preferred

Responsabilités

• Wash, decontaminate, rinse with distilled water, and oven-dry laboratory glassware.
• Wrap glassware and operate vertical steam autoclaves for sterilization at 121 degrees C.
• Prepare, dry, pulverize, and sieve agricultural soil and crop samples through 2mm sieves.
• Maintain cleanliness of laboratory benches, sinks, fume hoods, and chemical storage shelves.
• Safely neutralize and clean accidental laboratory chemical and acid benchtop spills.
• Segregate and dispose of hazardous laboratory chemical and biological waste properly.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE: lab coat, nitrile gloves, goggles) at all times.

Job Description & Position Overview

The Laboratory Attendant reports to the Laboratory Incharge / Lecturer. Responsibilities include washing, decontaminating, and drying laboratory glassware, operating steam autoclaves, grinding and sieving soil samples, handling chemical spills, and maintaining laboratory cleanliness.

Passing marks: 50%.
