About Chai Vision
Chai Vision is a fast-growing eCommerce company managing a portfolio of direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands across high-impact categories—including fitness, wellness, home, pet care, and supplements. We scale aggressively across platforms such as Shopify, Amazon, and wholesale channels using a data-driven, execution-focused approach and a deep commitment to operational excellence.
Role Summary
The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for ensuring end-to-end inventory accuracy, integrity, and optimization across all warehouse nodes and sales channels. This role owns inventory synchronization between ERP, WMS, and partner systems while delivering analytical insights that drive strategic decision-making.
The position plays a critical role in minimizing shrinkage, improving stock utilization, and supporting scalable growth through robust controls, cycle count programs, and data-backed inventory strategies. As a central point of accountability, the Inventory Control Manager ensures system records reflect physical reality—across 3PLs, internal warehouses, and international inventory locations.
What You’ll Do
Inventory Strategy & Planning
- Develop and own the overarching inventory philosophy, including safety stock models, allocation rules, and inventory governance across the brand portfolio
- Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes in partnership with Finance, Marketing, and E-commerce leadership
- Implement daily and weekly inventory health checks, purchase order reconciliation, and system audits
Inventory Accuracy & Control
- Own inventory record accuracy across all 3PL and 1PL locations
- Design and lead cycle count programs, variance investigations, and root-cause analysis
- Resolve discrepancies between physical inventory and system records, determining corrective actions and accountability
Execution, Allocation & Optimization
- Own allocation strategy for inbound inventory across warehouses and sales channels to maximize sell-through and minimize fulfillment cost and delivery time
- Proactively identify slow-moving, excess, and obsolete inventory; execute action plans including promotions, bundling, or liquidation strategies
- Manage international inventory transfers, including coordination with global 3PLs and customs documentation
3PL / 1PL Relationship & Process Management
- Serve as the primary inventory control point of contact for all 3PL partners and internal warehouse teams
- Establish, monitor, and audit SLAs for inventory accuracy, receiving timelines, put-away performance, and cycle counting
- Develop, document, and enforce SOPs for inventory-related workflows including returns, damages, transfers, and adjustments
Who You Are
- A systems-driven strategist who understands inventory as a dynamic, interconnected asset—not a static number
- Highly effective in complex, high-volume environments with thousands of SKUs, multiple sales channels (DTC, Amazon, Wholesale), and distributed warehouse networks
- Equally strong in analytics and execution—you can build forecasting models in Sheets/Excel and also understand warehouse realities on the ground
- A strong communicator and influencer, capable of aligning Finance, Marketing, Brand, and Operations teams around a unified inventory strategy
- Proactive, forward-looking, and calm under pressure, especially during shortages, overstock, or peak-season volatility
- Experienced in multi-node inventory management, demand forecasting, and ERP/WMS integrations within fast-paced ecommerce operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field (preferred)
- 4+ years of experience in inventory control, supply chain operations, or ecommerce logistics
- Proven experience managing inventory accuracy across multiple warehouses or 3PL partners
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong command of Excel/Google Sheets for modeling, reporting, and analysis
- Ability to work evening/night shifts aligned with U.S. business hours
Tools & Systems
- ERP & Planning: NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Sellercloud
- Business Intelligence: Tableau, Power BI, Looker Studio
- Core Operations: Google Workspace (advanced Sheets/Excel required), Slack, Notion
- 3PL / WMS / Integrations: Partner portals, EDI connections, warehouse management systems
Success Metrics
- Reduce inventory shrinkage and waste to <0.5% of total inventory value
- Maintain >99% inventory record accuracy across all warehouse nodes
- Maintain >99% successful stock reservation requests across sales channels
Cross-Functional Relationships
- Finance: Budgeting, capitalization, inventory valuation, and COGS analysis
- Brand & Marketing: Product launches, promotions, and demand planning
- E-commerce & Digital: Channel-specific inventory requirements and sell-through targets
- 3PL / 1PL Teams: Daily operational execution and performance management
- Product Development & Procurement: Lead times, MOQs, and new product introductions
Accountability & Rhythm
- Daily: Review inventory dashboards, system sync health, stock alerts, and urgent PO changes
- Weekly: Lead S&OP meetings and present inventory KPIs and risks to leadership
- Monthly: Conduct strategic reviews of warehouse and network performance
- Quarterly: Plan inventory readiness for seasonal peaks and scale
