Job summary

Pro Consulting is seeking an experienced IELTS / PTE Trainer to deliver high-quality test prep classes for IELTS, PTE, and optionally TOEFL/Duolingo/Oxford ELLT to students preparing for study-abroad applications. The trainer will conduct classroom teaching, one-on-one coaching, mock tests, and help students achieve their target band scores.

• Excellent classroom management and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Role Overview

We are hiring an experienced IELTS / PTE Trainer to deliver high-quality test preparation classes (IELTS, PTE, and optionally TOEFL/Duolingo/Oxford ELLT) to students preparing for study-abroad applications. The trainer will be responsible for classroom teaching, one-on-one coaching, mock tests, and helping students achieve their target band scores.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver structured IELTS and PTE preparation classes covering all four modules: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking


• Design and update lesson plans, practice materials, and mock tests aligned with the latest exam patterns


• Conduct regular mock tests and provide detailed, actionable feedback on student performance


• Identify individual student weaknesses and provide personalized coaching to improve band scores


• Track student progress and maintain performance records


• Stay current with changes in IELTS/PTE exam format, scoring criteria, and best practices


• Coordinate with the counselling team to align students' test timelines with their application/visa deadlines


• Assist in promotional/demo sessions and open house test-prep workshops as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's in English, Linguistics, or related field preferred


• Minimum 2 years of experience specifically as an IELTS and/or PTE trainer (candidates without direct test-prep training experience will not be considered)


• Strong command of English (written and spoken) with excellent pronunciation and grammar


• In-depth knowledge of IELTS and PTE exam formats, scoring bands, and assessment criteria


• Proven track record of helping students achieve target band scores


• Strong classroom management and presentation skills


• Patient, encouraging teaching style suited to students at varying proficiency levels

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in IELTS/PTE training or TEFL/CELTA


• Experience training for additional tests: TOEFL, Duolingo English Test, or Oxford ELLT


• Prior experience at an IDP/British Council-affiliated center or education consultancy
