Job summary

Firehorse is hiring a Full Stack Engineer with 4+ years of experience to work on our insurance platform using React, Node.js and Python AWS Lambda pipelines. You will ship both frontend components and backend services, including serverless data pipelines and REST APIs, with direct stakeholder communication.

The role requires strong English communication, hybrid work, and collaboration with clients and QA. Experience with MERN, AWS, and cloud-native tools is preferred.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional full-stack development experience.
• Strong Python skills with production AWS Lambda work.
• Experience with MongoDB and/or DynamoDB and REST APIs.
• Proficient in Git, HTML, CSS and responsive development.
• Working knowledge of AWS services and serverless deployment (SAM/CDK).
• Experience writing automated tests (Jest/pytest).
• Solid fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and debugging.
• Clear written and spoken English for stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop serverless Python services on AWS Lambda for document processing and data pipelines.
• Develop scalable REST APIs and reusable frontend components.
• Work with MongoDB and DynamoDB, plus S3, SQS, and event-driven AWS services.
• Integrate LLM-powered extraction and compliance checks into production workflows.
• Troubleshoot production issues end to end, from UI to API to Lambda logs.

Firehorse, a US-based company, is hiring a Full Stack Engineer with 4+ years of experience to work across our insurance platform: React and Node.js (MERN) web applications on the front and Python AWS Lambda processing pipelines behind them. This is one role, not two. We are looking for someone equally comfortable shipping a React screen, an Express API, and a Python Lambda that processes insurance documents, with clear written and spoken English for direct stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop serverless Python services on AWS Lambda for document processing and data pipelines.
• Develop scalable REST APIs and reusable frontend components.
• Work with MongoDB and Amazon DynamoDB, plus S3, SQS, and event-driven AWS services.
• Integrate LLM-powered extraction and compliance checks into production workflows.
• Troubleshoot production issues end to end, from the UI through the API to the Lambda logs.
• Collaborate directly with clients, designers, QA, and other engineers.

Technical Requirements

• 4+ years of professional full-stack development experience.
